Search in the „Death Books of Auschwitz”
(Please note that when you search for places of birth, they have been registered in German notation. For example, “Warschau” for Warszawa, “Prag” for Praha, “Mailand” for Milano, “Preschau” for Prešov.
In addition, some towns and villages were also given new German names that were only used during the German occupation. For example, “Gotenhafen” for Gdynia, “Litzmannstadt” for Łódź; or historically older German names, e.g. “Preßburg” for Bratislava or “Hindenburg” for Zabrze.
Please do not include the second names “Israel” and “Sarah” or “Sara” if they are registered in the “death books”. These are forced names given to Jewish women, men and children by the National Socialists.)
